Meet Jane

Hello and welcome.

I'm Jane Chesworth, founder of the breath sanctuary, with my in-person breathing studio based in Wrexham, North Wales.

If you've found your way here, perhaps life has asked too much of you for too long. Perhaps you've spent years holding everything together for everyone else, and you've become so used to keeping going that you've forgotten what it feels like to truly rest, or simply to be.

Where it began

For as long as I can remember, I've felt life deeply. Growing up knowing I was physically different, I became very good at looking outwards. I watched other people, tried to fit in and adapted myself to be like the people I thought were "normal". Somewhere along the way, I lost connection with myself.

I lived with the effects of trauma for so long that I didn't know there was another way to feel. My nervous system rarely settled and my mind rarely became still. When something has been with you most of your life, you don't realise that everybody else isn't experiencing the world in the same way.

My journey began with meditation, which gave me the chance to start looking within. Then I found Reiki, which opened another part of me. Then I found the breath, and everything began to change.

Finding the breath

I began with Conscious Connected Breathwork and loved the depth of it and the release it could create. But before asking my body to release, I realised I needed to understand how I was breathing every day. I trained in Oxygen Advantage and Buteyko breathing methods, and learnt about functional breathing and regulation. That changed how I understood deeper breathwork too, and showed me how much safety, regulation and integration matter alongside release.

As I found safety and regulation, old patterns softened and the constant striving and people pleasing gave way to something I hadn't felt for years. Space. Peace. Clarity.

For a long time I'd searched outside myself for answers. The breath showed me how much information was already within me. I came to understand that healing isn't necessarily about becoming somebody new. It's remembering who you have always been beneath the layers life has placed upon you.

Why children matter to me

I wish I'd known some of this when I was younger. That's why I've taken breath and wellbeing work into 1-1 children’s sessions and nursery settings, and why I'm training in School Breathe, breathwork for children. Children don't need adult explanations of trauma or nervous systems. They can begin with something much simpler: noticing their breath, recognising what they're feeling and learning that there are ways to come back to themselves.

How it all fits together

I now see all of this as connected. The functional breath matters. The nervous system matters. Our experiences matter, and so do the beliefs we've carried for so long that we no longer notice them, the ones that no longer serve us.

That's why my work brings together breath, Reiki, trauma-informed practice and deep release. Conscious Connected Breathwork can take us somewhere deeper. Deep release work allows the body to let go of what it no longer needs. Working with our beliefs helps us loosen the ones that no longer serve us. Meditation allows us to listen, and Reiki brings in an energetic and intuitive dimension. Body, breath, mind, emotions, energy and soul are not separate parts of us.

That understanding became the breath sanctuary. My work is trauma-informed, and I honour that every person's experience is unique. Some people arrive anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted or unable to switch off. Some have spent years appearing to cope while quietly feeling that something within them has become lost. Some carry the effects of difficult experiences. You don't need to know exactly what you need before you arrive. Someone might simply want to breathe better, and someone else might feel ready to explore something much deeper.

I offer one-to-one sessions for people who need to feel completely held and supported, and small groups and memberships, online and in person. I'm a Reiki teacher, trained in two full lineages, and a lifelong student.

For me, the breath is the doorway, but what lies beyond that doorway is the person themselves.

If you'd like to feel what it's like to be held in safe, supported space, I'd love to welcome you. Get in touch or enter the sanctuary.

I am here to encourage you and show you the way…

to find your breath that leads you back to yourself

with gentleness, compassion, and courage.

to allow your body to release what it no longer needs

and open up to the calm it has always deserved.

As you soften, I want you to you feel the quiet truth of it all —

you are here to be the full power you !

At The Breath Sanctuary,

In this space, you are invited to reconnect with your body, settle your breath and rediscover the wisdom that has always lived within you.

Everything we do is grounded in an understanding of the nervous system and shaped by the body's innate ability to heal. Through breath, Reiki, belief release and body-led practices, we create the conditions for your body to feel safe enough to let go and be integrated.

Limiting beliefs begin to loosen.

Your nervous system begins to settle.

And as those layers fall away, many people find a quieter mind, a deeper trust in themselves and a stronger connection to who they really are.

There is no pressure to become somebody new.

Only the opportunity to reconnect with your authentic self, One breath at a time.
